One of the happiest moments in my life? I'd have to say the day my lil girl Joanna Beth was born. She was so small and I was afraid of dropping her or hurting her when asked if I wanted to hold her for the first time. Once she was in my arms though you'd of needed a crowbar to get her away from me. I sat down with her and just held her against my chest and felt that tiny head nuzzle into me like she did so many times after that. I looked down at that little face and i knew right then and there she'd have me wrapped around her lil ol finger. I wasn't too worried about that though because I knew Ellen wouldn't let me get too lax. I mean I like to think I was a good dad, firm but fair.

But the day Jo was born and holding her for the very first time was one of the happiest moments in this old hunter's life. I'll never forget that moment, that and the smile on Ellen's face when she looked up at me. I think back on that and smile every damn time. No matter what.
